Gifts guide

The gift section on your digital wedding card

Many guests in Malaysia would rather send duit salam or an angpao by bank transfer than carry an envelope, and a few want to post a present. A gift section on your card gives them the details without anyone having to ask awkwardly in a chat. This guide shows what the Wishes2Vows gift sheet can hold, how guests use it, and how to word it graciously.

1. What the gift sheet can hold

The gift sheet comes with the Grand package. You fill it in the editor under Gifts, and it has room for each side of the couple separately, because families often want gifts to go to the bride's side and the groom's side in their own accounts.

What you can add in the Gifts panel
PartWhat it holds
Bank account, brideBank name, account holder, account number and a payment QR image
Bank account, groomThe same four details for the groom's side
Delivery address, brideName, postal address and phone number
Delivery address, groomThe same three details for the groom's side
WishlistItems with a link to buy, a price, a photo and who it is meant for

Leave out anything you do not want. A card with only bank details and no wishlist is perfectly normal, and so is one with only a delivery address.

2. Fill it in, then switch it on

The fields are always visible in the editor, even while the section is switched off, so you can fill in the bank details and upload the QR images at your own pace and check them in the preview. Guests only see the gift sheet once you turn on Enable gifts.

  1. Type each bank name, account holder and account number exactly as the bank shows them.
  2. Upload the payment QR image from your banking app, one for each side if you have two.
  3. Add delivery addresses only if you are happy for guests to post gifts to them.
  4. Add wishlist items with a shop link, for example a Shopee or Lazada listing.
  5. Turn on Enable gifts, then open the gift sheet in the preview and read every number twice.

3. What guests see

Guests open the gift sheet from the Gift button on the card's floating bar. When both sides have details, they choose the bride or the groom first, then see that side's bank account, QR image, delivery address and gift ideas.

The account number has a copy button, and so do the address and the phone number once the guest taps Reveal Details, so a guest can tap once and paste into their banking app or a courier form without retyping. To pay, they scan your QR image or transfer to the account from their own banking app. Wishes2Vows does not take payments or hold money for you; the money goes straight from the guest's bank to yours.

Wishlist items marked for both of you appear on either side. Items marked for the bride or the groom appear only on that side, with the photo, the price you typed and a link to where it can be bought.

4. Wording it graciously

In most Malaysian families, gifts are welcomed but never demanded. The card should make giving easy for those who want to, and say clearly that presence matters most. A single line in your guest guide or invitation text does more than a long explanation.

A gentle line about gifts (English)
Your presence is the greatest gift.
For those who wish to send a token of love, the details are in the Gift section.
Satu ayat tentang hadiah (Bahasa Melayu)
Kehadiran anda adalah hadiah yang paling bermakna.
Bagi yang ingin memberi, butiran salam kaut ada di bahagian Hadiah.

5. Keeping bank details safe

Your card is open to anyone who has the link, and the link is forwarded. Show only what you are comfortable with relatives of relatives seeing. An account number is generally safe to share for receiving money, but never put anything on the card that lets someone take money out, such as a card number or a banking password.

  • Use an account you are happy to receive gifts into, not necessarily your main one.
  • Check the account holder name matches the bank exactly; guests' apps show it before they confirm.
  • If you would rather not share an address, leave the delivery fields empty.
  • Turn off Enable gifts after the wedding if you no longer want the details shown.
