Digital vs printed wedding invitation cards in Malaysia: the real cost

For a wedding invitation card in Malaysia, digital costs less than print in almost every case, and the gap grows with your guest list: printed cards are paid for one household at a time, while one digital card reaches every guest for a flat fee. If elders still expect a card in the hand, a hybrid (a small print run for them, a digital card for everyone else) is the lowest-cost way to give them one at around 500 guests, and costs about the same as a small print-only order at 300. This guide puts printer prices read on 23 October 2026 next to digital market prices, shows the arithmetic for 300 and 500 guests, and lists the costs that never appear on a price list.

1. Count invitations, not guests

Printed cards go to households, not people. A couple and their three children get one card. A digital link can go to every guest, and one flat fee covers all of them. So the sums below use two numbers: guests, and invitations.

Our assumption, and it is only that: two guests per household, so 300 guests is about 150 invitations and 500 guests is about 250. Your family may be very different. Big households shrink the print bill, and a list full of colleagues grows it. Swap in your own count.

2. What a printed wedding invitation card costs in Malaysia

We read printers' own pages on 23 October 2026. Many Malaysian printers publish no price and quote on WhatsApp instead, so this is a small sample, not a market average. Prices change, so check the page before you order.

Printed wedding card prices on printers' own pages, checked 23 October 2026
PrinterWhat the page showedWhat the page did not say
Nurfa, à la carte cards (nurfa.com)From RM 45 for 50 cards. Cards only: 100 cards RM 48.60 to RM 75.60, 200 cards RM 89.10 to RM 92.70, 300 cards RM 102.60 to RM 109.80, 500 cards RM 135.90 to RM 155.70. Processing 1 to 2 working weeks. The page shows two price tables without labels, so we give the range across both. Envelopes, design and delivery are not in these prices.
Printlab, wedding sets (printlab.com.my)Sets with cream envelopes and thank-you tags: 100 cards RM 128, 200 RM 228, 300 RM 358, 500 RM 488, 1,000 RM 828. Sets also include extras such as a bunting and a guest book, and the 200-card set and larger bundle a basic e-card.Artwork is not included, and extra amendments cost RM 50 to RM 200 each. Delivery outside the free West Malaysia offer had no amount shown.
Nurfa, packages (nurfa.com)Packages with envelopes, a bunting and a digital card, with free delivery in Peninsular Malaysia. The package price table did not load for us, so we quote no amount.
Paperose, premium stationery (paperose.com.my)Premium invitations from RM 480 (arch-shaped) and from RM 980 (handmade paper with chiffon ribbon). Shipping added at checkout.Whether the price is per card or per set, and for how many. Do not read it as a per-card price.

Two things stand out. The lowest printer prices are for the card alone; envelopes, artwork and delivery come on top. And printers now bundle a digital card with a print order, which tells you print-only is no longer the default, even for printers.

3. What a digital wedding invitation card costs in Malaysia

On 23 October 2026 we read the pricing pages of 20 self-serve digital card makers in Malaysia. Their least expensive paid card ranged from RM 10 to RM 59.90, with a median of RM 29, and the most expensive tier we saw was RM 129. Most price per card or per package rather than per guest, though a few cap RSVPs or events by tier.

Some are ahead of us on price: several start below our entry price, and 4 advertise a free tier or trial. Our comparison guide lists every maker, what each one advertises, and the page we read it on.

Before you pay any maker, check three things: how long the card stays live, whether RSVPs or events are capped, and whether seating, check-in or reminders cost extra.

4. The cost table: 300 and 500 guests

Every figure is an estimate built from the prices above, before envelopes, artwork, delivery and postage. The digital figure is an assumption, labelled: RM 29, the median entry price across the 20 makers we checked on 23 October 2026. The hybrid assumes 50 printed cards for elders and VIPs; replace that with your real number.

Estimated invitation cost for 300 and 500 guests in Malaysia
Plan300 guests (about 150 invitations)500 guests (about 250 invitations)
Print only, cards alone (Nurfa)200 cards, 150 plus spares: RM 89.10 to RM 92.70300 cards, 250 plus spares: RM 102.60 to RM 109.80
Print only, set with envelopes (Printlab)200-card set: RM 228, plus artwork300-card set: RM 358, plus artwork
Digital only (assumed RM 29)RM 29The same. A flat fee does not grow with the list
Hybrid: 50 printed (Nurfa) plus one digital cardRM 74 to RM 96.50The same RM 74 to RM 96.50. The print run follows your elders, not your total
For comparison: one printed card per guest300 cards: RM 102.60 to RM 109.80 (Nurfa), or RM 358 (Printlab set)500 cards: RM 135.90 to RM 155.70 (Nurfa), or RM 488 (Printlab set)

How to read it. Digital only is the lowest-cost plan if nobody needs paper. Print grows with your list. The hybrid stays flat, because the print run is set by how many elders you have, not by how many guests. At 300 guests it lands about level with a small cards-only print order; at 500 it costs less than any print-only plan, and the gap widens from there.

Postage

Postage is charged per envelope, so if you post cards it adds to a print-only plan for every household, and to a hybrid only for your small run. We could not confirm a current Pos Malaysia rate, so it is left out of every total above. Check the rate for your envelope size before you budget.

5. Hidden costs on both sides

Printed cards

  • Artwork. Printlab's set prices exclude artwork, and extra amendments cost RM 50 to RM 200. Other printers may include a design, so ask.
  • Reprints. A date or venue change after printing means reprinting, or telling every household one by one.
  • Envelopes, delivery and postage, often as separate lines.
  • Time and petrol. Delivering cards by hand is a courtesy, and it costs weekends and fuel. We have no honest number for this, so count your own.
  • Lead time. Nurfa quotes 1 to 2 working weeks for processing. As a guideline, invitations go out 6 to 8 weeks before the wedding with RSVPs due 3 to 4 weeks before, so add proofs and delivery and count back from there.

Digital cards

  • Add-ons. Some makers charge extra for the tools a big wedding needs: on 23 October 2026, SayaKahwin listed RM 49.99 for each add-on (seating, QR check-in or WhatsApp reminders). Compare what is inside the package, not just its price.
  • Validity. Links can expire. Jemputan Majlis listed 6 months, extendable by 6 more; MajlisKenduri sold cards live for 1, 2 or 3 months, from RM 10 to RM 30. If your reception is months away, pick the validity first.
  • Design rounds. Custom design is usually a separate, higher price.

Then there is the cost of chasing RSVPs, which is time, not money. With print, replies arrive as calls and messages, and someone in the family counts them by hand. A digital RSVP collects every answer in one place. If you have ever phoned 150 households two weeks before the kenduri, you know what that is worth.

6. When a printed wedding invitation in Malaysia is still worth it

  • Elders. Many families see a card handed over in person as the respectful way to invite parents, grandparents, aunties and uncles.
  • Keepsake. A printed card can be framed or kept in an album. A link cannot.
  • Adat. Some families expect a physical invitation, whether for a Malay kenduri, a Chinese banquet or an Indian or Tamil ceremony. Follow your family.

None of this means printing for everyone. Print for the people who expect a card in the hand, put a QR code or short link to your digital card on it, and send the link to everyone else so there is one place for the map, the latest times and the RSVP.

7. Where Wishes2Vows fits

We make the digital half. You can design the whole card in the editor before you pay, and you sign in with Google only when you press Checkout. Guests reply on the card with their phone number, party size and which events they will attend.

The guests who reply are the same guests you seat and check in at the door, so nobody retypes names. If your family already keeps the list in Excel, upload it and the planned-guests board matches it against the replies, so you can see who has not answered yet.

See current prices on our pricing page. The exact amount is shown on the payment page before you pay.

Common questions

Is a digital wedding card cheaper than a printed one in Malaysia?

In almost every case, yes. On 23 October 2026 the median entry price of 20 digital makers was RM 29 whatever the guest count, while the printers we checked started at RM 45 for 50 cards and rose with quantity, before envelopes, artwork and postage.

How much does a printed wedding invitation card cost in Malaysia?

On the printer pages we read on 23 October 2026, cards alone started at RM 45 for 50, and sets with envelopes ran from RM 128 for 100 to RM 488 for 500. Premium stationery was priced from RM 480, with the unit not stated. Prices change, so check the printer's page.

How much do 500 printed wedding cards cost?

About RM 135.90 to RM 155.70 for the cards alone at Nurfa, or RM 488 for Printlab's 500-card set with envelopes and extras, as of 23 October 2026. Artwork, delivery and postage are extra.

Do I need to print one card per guest?

No. Printed cards go per household, so a family of five gets one card and 300 guests is often closer to 150 invitations. Count households, not heads, before you order.

Can I send digital cards and still give elders a printed one?

Yes. Print only for the people who expect a card in the hand, and send the digital link to everyone else. Many Malaysian families do exactly this.

Does a digital wedding card cost more if I add guests?

Usually not. Most makers charge per card or per event, not per guest. Check for caps on RSVPs or events, how long the link stays live, and whether seating or check-in cost extra.

What happens if my wedding date changes?

With print, you reprint or tell each household yourself. With a digital card you edit it once and everyone who opens the link sees the new details, but check the maker's edit rules first.
