One digital wedding card for every event

A Malaysian wedding is rarely one event. There is the akad nikah and the sanding, the tea ceremony and the dinner, the muhurtham and the reception, sometimes in different towns on different days. This guide explains how to put every function on one digital card, and how guests reply to just the ones they are invited to.

1. Why one card for every event

Sending a separate invitation for each function means guests juggle several links, and you juggle several guest lists. One card with every event on it gives guests one place for every time and venue, and gives you one guest list where each reply says which events that household will attend.

Common combinations of events on one Malaysian wedding card
WeddingEvents often on the card
MalayAkad nikah, majlis bersanding, and a separate reception on the other side
ChineseTea ceremony, and the wedding dinner or banquet
Indian and TamilEngagement or mehndi, the muhurtham, and the reception
Mixed or churchThe ceremony, and a reception at a different venue

Every family does it differently, so treat the table as a starting point. What matters is that each function your guests might attend is its own event on the card, with its own date, time and place.

2. Add each event in the editor

Your card starts with one event; add the rest, and remove any, in the editor's schedule at any time. Each event card on the schedule holds its own details.

  • A title, such as Akad Nikah, Tea Ceremony or Reception.
  • A date, and a start and end time.
  • The venue name and its address.
  • A short description, for example who it is for or what to expect.
  • A dress code, such as Baju Melayu in sage, or Formal.
  • An optional icon for the event card.

If a time is not confirmed yet, leave it empty. The card shows Time to be confirmed instead of guessing, and the event goes into guests' calendars as an all-day entry until you add the time.

3. What guests see

Guests see the events in a schedule on the card, each with its date, time, venue and dress code. Every event can be added to their calendar, Google Calendar or Apple Calendar, so the morning akad and the evening dinner each arrive as their own entry with the right time and place.

When events are at different venues, give each one its own venue name and full address, so guests can see at a glance where each function is held. Your card also has map buttons for Google Maps and Waze for the main venue, from links you paste in the editor.

4. RSVP per event

When your card has two or more events taking replies, the RSVP form asks guests which ones they will attend. A guest picks the akad and the reception, or only the reception, and their reply is counted only for the events they chose. With one event, the question is not asked at all.

Some events are on the card to inform rather than to invite, such as a family-only nikah that the wider guest list should know about. An event can be shown on the schedule but left out of the RSVP form, and out of day-of check-in; that setting is not in the editor yet, so message us and we switch it for that event.

How a two-event reply reads in your guest list
Priya & family, party of 3
Muhurtham: attending
Reception: attending
Arun's office friends, party of 2
Reception only

5. Running each event on the day

Because every reply carries its events, the console keeps the numbers apart. You can look at the guest list one event at a time, plan seating separately for each event, and check guests in at the door for the event happening now, so the morning ceremony and the night reception never share one muddled count.

  • Give your caterer each event's own headcount, not the total.
  • Print table assignments per event when the guests differ.
  • At the door, choose the event first, then check guests in.

Common questions

Can I put the akad nikah and the reception on one digital card?

Yes. Add each as its own event with its own date, time and venue. Guests see both on the schedule and choose which they will attend when they RSVP.

Can guests RSVP to only some of the events?

Yes. When two or more events take replies, the form asks which ones the guest will attend, and each event keeps its own count.

Can an event be on the card without taking RSVPs?

Yes. An event can be shown on the schedule but left out of the RSVP form. Message us and we set it for that event.

What if I do not know an event's time yet?

Leave the time empty. The card shows Time to be confirmed, and you can add the time later.
