Wishes guide

The wishes guestbook on your digital wedding card

A wedding guestbook used to be a book at the door that half the guests walked past. On a digital card it sits a scroll away from the RSVP, so the aunt who cannot make it and the friend overseas can write too. This guide covers how wishes work for your guests, and how you look after them from your console.

Wishes Management

Review, moderate, and delete the wishes your guests leave on the wedding card. Keep the messages that matter.

1. Wishes on your card

The wishes guestbook is on the card from the Deluxe package up. A guest types their name and a message and sends it. There is no account to make and no app to install, which matters for the relatives who will only ever open your card from a WhatsApp link.

  • A name of up to 100 characters and a message of up to 1,000.
  • Wishes are listed newest first, twenty at a time, with a Load more button.
  • Guests can heart a wish they like, once per browser.
  • A wish shows on the card as soon as it is sent.

Guests do not need to reply to the RSVP to leave a wish. When someone has already replied from the same phone and browser, their wish is quietly linked to their RSVP. That link is never shown to guests.

2. Set it up in the editor

In the editor, open Wishes. You can switch the guestbook on or off, and change the small label, the heading and the short introduction above it, along with the section's font and text colour. Turning the guestbook off hides it and its shortcut from guests; wishes already left are kept and come back if you turn it on again.

The introduction is worth a sentence of your own. Guests write more, and more warmly, when you tell them what you would love to hear: a memory, advice for married life, or a doa for the two of you.

3. Getting guests to write

Most guests leave a wish when they are reminded at the right moment. The best moments are right after they RSVP, the week before the wedding, and the morning after, when the photos start going round and everyone is still feeling the day.

  • Mention the guestbook in your share message, so guests know it is there before they open the card.
  • Ask overseas relatives and friends who cannot attend to write instead; it gives them a way to take part.
  • Have the emcee mention it during the reception, with the card link on the screen or on a table card.
  • Thank guests in the family group for their wishes; others usually follow.

4. You decide what stays up

Wishes appear as soon as they are sent; there is no approve-first queue. From the Wishes page in your console you can hide any wish (Hide from guestbook), bring it back (Approve), edit it or delete it. Hiding is the gentle option: the wish disappears from the card but stays in your console, so you can bring it back.

What you can do with each wish
ActionWhat guests see
Hide from guestbookThe wish disappears from the card; you can bring it back
ApproveA hidden wish returns to the card
EditThe corrected wording, for a typo or a name spelled wrong
DeleteThe wish is removed from your guestbook

Because moderation happens after posting, glance at the guestbook once a day in the weeks before the wedding, and ask a friend to do the same on the day itself.

5. Hearts and popular wishes

Hearts let guests react without writing. A heart is counted once per browser, not once per person, so the count is a warm signal rather than a vote. The count for each wish is kept with it and included when you export.

Some couples read the most-hearted wishes aloud at the reception, or put them on the screen during dinner. It is an easy way to bring the guests who could not come into the room.

6. Keep the wishes after the wedding

From the Wishes page, export every wish as a CSV file. Each row has the guest's name, the wish, its heart count, the date it was posted and whether it is visible or hidden. The file opens in Excel or Google Sheets.

  • Print them into a small book for your parents.
  • Pick a few for your thank-you messages.
  • Keep the file somewhere safe of your own, alongside your photos.
